Why did I not have a toadstool play table when I was a little girl? Why do I not have one now? Get yours at The Junk Gypsy Co.

My Bohemian Childhood ~ Myths, Fables and Fairytales
My favorite book as a little girl was an old, worn collection of Grimm’s Fairy Tales. I spent hours reading those stories over and over again and studying all the details of the accompanying illustrations. I was enchanted. All these years later, I am still drawn to fairytales, folklore, fables and mythology. They are rich with symbolism and archetypes, and their stories teach us lessons about the human heart and psyche in the most colorful and magical way.
I just discovered this photographer, Kirsty Mitchell, through someone’s post on Pinterest.com (another obsession of mine), and her work just blows me away. If you have any interest in myths and fairytales, etc. and/or photography, I highly recommend a look at her website.

ABOUT

thatbohemiangirlWe are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;—
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.

~Arthur O'Shaughnessy, "Ode," 1874
